Tips For Maintaining Security In Digital Media

It is undeniable that the development of Information Technology in the world continues to develop massively. The widespread use of the internet affects lifestyle changes to become all-digital because it offers convenience and practicality in carrying out various activities.

Currently, people are increasingly comfortable and believe in doing digital activities that are certainly high risk, for example, many people are experiencing fraud, for this reason, public understanding regarding digital security is needed.

“A process to ensure the use of digital services, both online and offline can be done safely, not only to secure the data we have but also protect confidential personal data”, explained Ary Sandi as head of ICT volunteers, when he was a speaker at a Digital Seminar at the uir postgraduate building, last Monday (12/06/2023).

Some safety tips in Digital media are :

Ensure the security of your devices and digital media including social media and messaging applications by using strong passwords and making sure to enable 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication)
Keep your personal data safe and don’t share it with anyone, including on social media
Always be aware of unknown links, do not open unknown files or links sent via email, social media or chat applications
Do not respond to phone calls and messages that end asking for personal data or password/PIN
Ary Sandi adds know carefully with whom we communicate on the internet, be careful when shopping online, make sure sellers are trusted and shop from Trusted Places, only install applications from official places such as the AppStore or Google Play, use anti-virus, especially on computer devices, and make sure the people around us such as family and employees also have the same understanding regarding digital security.
