Team Education Foundation: The University of Indonesia (UI) held a rector election for the 2024-2029 period at the UI Depok campus Assembly Hall, West Java, Monday.
UI announced three names of Rector candidates who passed the screening stage selection to lead the leading university in Indonesia in the period 2024-2029.
The three candidates who passed this stage will hold a public debate on Monday, September 23, 2024, at 09.00 WIB at the Convention Center, UI Depok campus, and broadcast live through the YouTube channel of the University of Indonesia and UI Teve.
The three candidates for rector of UI are Prof. Dr. dr. Ari Fahrial Syam, SpPD-KGEH, MMB, FINASIM, FACP, FACG (Faculty of Medicine UI); Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU (Faculty of Engineering UI) ; and Teguh Dartanto, Ph.D. (Faculty of Economics and business UI).
UI rector candidate Ari Fahrial Syam will explain a work program that focuses on finance and entrepreneurship, as well as what steps he will take in the first 100 days if he becomes UI Rector, among others, the launch of a multidisciplinary research program; the development of community service blueprints; and the preparation of career paths for lecturers and education personnel (tendik).
Then other candidates Heri Hermansyah offered five strategies that were reduced to 15 excellent programs. These strategies include entrepreneurship empowerment, improving access to education and quality, strengthening Research-Innovation-Community Engagement (RICE); global competitiveness; and good governance and cultural transformation.
While other rector candidates Teguh Dartanto in his presentation carried the theme “Building an inclusive, relevant, reputable, and sustainable UI”, with nine strategic plans for UI development and nine excellent work programs.
